Danie van der Walt

Background

Danie obtained his Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Financial Management and Economics from the University of Pretoria. He also holds a Certificate in Business Accounting from the Charted Institute of Management Accounting (CIMA) and obtained his welding inspector level 1 qualification from The South African Institute of Welding.

He currently serves as Head of Estimating and is responsible for the complete bid process.  This includes marketing, building and maintaining relationships with potential and existing clients, attending tender site meetings, determining the key variables for cost, estimating on a first principle basis, compiling the proposal as well as tender clarification meetings and contract negotiations. Danie has more than 11 years of management experience including over 7 years of SMPP construction experience along with other expertise including marketing, tendering, project setup, project management, fabrication, erection, supply, installation, project finance & accounting as well as asset management and fleet management.

Danie has a vast experience in shutdown project management, construction, material and quality control and is also responsible for site establishment on new projects. He oversees many other business functions such in-house logistics, asset and fleet management.

On a personal level, Danie values long term relationships with clients and suppliers and posses a dynamic work ethic, along with an ability to think outside the box and develop valuable skills to contribute to the team.
